The focus of this domain will be on three important classes of materials as listed below followed by high temperature characterization of these classes of materials for a comprehensive evaluation: a) Super-hard ceramics, b) Ultra-high temperature resistant nanocomposites (T>2500°C), c) Cellular ceramics for structural energy absorption and d) High temperature thermal and mechanical characterization.
