Functional ceramics for energy & environment


Use of ceramics for energy harvesting (solar energy, thermal energy, vibration energy), is one of the most desired fields and the need of the hour. Designing the chemistry to absorb solar energy with spectral selectivity, or designing the next generation dielectrics with high energy density and power density or harnessing the electro catalytic capabilities of some certain nitrides for hydrogen production can be extremely beneficial for the environment as clean-green energy solutions. The domain also require high end characterization which may involve insitu heating and capture of atomic resolution images for fundamental understanding of the processes, and defects.
